BLUE VINE

Blue Vine takes its inspiration from the circular cobalt blue patterns of a 16th Century Persian bowl. The decorative floral patterns of the Persian and Turkish traditions, with their underlying geometric grid, have also influenced the artist’s series of plate designs. With Blue Vine, the plantlike motif at the centre of the design, decorated with leaves and flowers, represents nature’s inherent vitality. The energy of the pattern moves through the delicately turning vine and draws the eye outward from the centre. A traditionally inspired border around the rim completes the design.

Designed and made by Sally Pucill at her ceramic studio in England and fired at the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts.
